Prep for a consult w/ G2 tattoo shop

Booked your tattoo consultation? Great, we are looking forward to helping you with your next piece! Let’s get you prepared to meet with your artist with some tips on how to be ready for a successful consult.

  1. Have a reference material ready.

    1. Find an image, or subject, or concept you like.

    2. Keep in mind that not all designs may look good as a tattoo.

    3. Tip here: The more references the better! Take your time, but don’t over think it. When in doubt, just come on by to the shop and we’ll help you!

  2. Custom work, or have a design ready?

    1. Tell us whether you would like specific work done, or are coming in for a custom design consultation.

    2. We love doing custom designs, but do keep in mind that there will be an added fee for the artist’s time for doing the design.

    3. A tip here is to think whether you want to have a piece that is unique to you, or want a piece that is already established.

  3. Where do you want the tattoo?

    1. Dependent on where you would like the tattoo, variation to the design you have in mind is necessary.

    2. If this your first time getting a tattoo, ask your artist about getting a tattoo in the location you have in mind.

    3. For areas that are too sensitive, we may have to decline the tattoo. Please use your best judgement when requesting a tattoo for a body area.

    4. A tip here is to take one of your reference pieces you have in mind, print it out, cut around the paper, and place it on various parts of the body.

  4. What size do you want the tattoo?

    1. Have a general idea of the size of tattoo you would like.

    2. If your original artwork is small resolution, we may have to work on making it higher resolution.

    3. For larger pieces expect multiple sessions!

    4. Some one-point (tiny tattoos) might not accommodate your design.

    5. A tip here is to take one of your reference pieces you have in mind, print it out in a few sizes, cut around the paper, and place it on the body area you are thinking of.

  5. Don’t forget your deposit!

    1. Our pricing starts at $8000 yen or $80 dollars.

    2. To reserve a spot on our calendar we require a deposit of $100, Unless you are looking at a one-point tattoo in which case it’s $80.

    3. Your deposit will be applied to the full price of your tattoo.

    4. Talk to your artist on your financial budget and we’ll work with you on a piece that fits the budget!

Our job is not to help you make up your mind, or suggest a tattoo for you. Our shop philosophy is that each tattoo should be as unique as the individual who wears them. Humans are multidimensional, and a tattoo is a part of a person that they choose to wear to signify individuality, or mark a moment in time, or express a characteristic. Our job is to simply to make your idea into the best tattoo it can be.

Booking your tattoo consultation is your first step to your next amazing piece.
